Update about page wording
I remain a fan of the Google of 2010-2011 when I joined, but corporate
culture has taken over and generally speaking, it feels like Google is
happy to make changes that make products worse for their users if it
means more short-term revenue, despite what that means for trust and
long-term revenues.
I'm glad to have spent my career at Google working on open source
projects that, for the most part, aren't as strongly subject to these
sorts of tradeoffs, and give back to the broader developer community.
I'm sure that at some point I'll have a blog post about the ethical
tensions of working for a company that has turned into a corporate
behemoth and has become problematic to society, but which also happens
to pay some number of us to write open source with no strings attached.
This attempts to subtly make that point a little bit clearer.
